RuneScape: Dragonwilds Kuldra the Dragon Queen

God-Eater prep: Umbral Sands, Fuzan, raid gear, and the 1.0 Scorned Wilderness window.

Kuldra the Dragon Queen

Kuldra is the Dragon Queen, the God-Eater, a Dragonkin experiment fused with divine blood. She is the end of the current saga, not a random world boss you trip over in Bramblemead. General Velgar answers to her. The Scorned Wilderness raid that puts you in her arena is scheduled with 1.0 on 15 September 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. This page is preparation. It is not a live mechanic dump, because that raid is not in the Early Access build.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds entered Steam Early Access on 15 April 2025. Umbral Sands is the last major region before the raid. If you have not finished the desert, you are not undergeared for Kuldra — you are in the wrong chapter. Follow the region walkthrough until adamant, red dragonhide, and Infinity robes are real items in your chest, not wiki words.

Who she is, and who she is not

Dragonkin created Kuldra with divine blood in the mix. In-game texts call her the pinnacle of dragon creation, a queen who ate gods and left Ashenfall under dragon rule. Velgar is her poison general; you already kill him in Dragon Slayer. Fuzan is the blazing tyrant of Umbral Sands, a different dragon with a Fight Cave gate. Do not confuse the three. Velgar is live. Fuzan is live. Kuldra is the 1.0 raid.

Jagex has said killing Kuldra should yield the next Dragon Shield step, a cape, and iconic red dragon pieces such as a Dragon Scimitar and Dragon Crossbow. Treat those as announced 1.0 rewards, not as Early Access drops. The 1.0 launch page and the roadmap track what is promised versus what is in the build you are playing tonight.

Finish Umbral Sands first

The desert is the gear and systems check. Sunscorch punishes players who stand in open noon without shade or Summon Shelter. Night travel, hastily built roofs, and lodestones in shadow are part of the kit. Adamant bars, yew, red dragonhide, and Infinity robes are the crafting floor. If you are still in mithril from Dowdun Reach, farm the Sands until the chest says otherwise.

Trials of Fuzan / the Fight Cave is the desert set-piece. Waves, lava, then the red dragon. Learn to move while something large is in the air; that habit transfers to a queen fight. Full wave notes and the Fire Cape sit on the Fight Caves guide. Sunscorch, carpets, and adamant live on the Umbral Sands guide. Nightmare Crucible is the repeatable wave arena that feeds materials and nerves. Run it until the party stops wiping on trash.

Beat the Black Knight Titan in Dowdun Reach before you even walk into the desert. That gate exists so mithril players do not sunscorch themselves into a graveyard.

Gear floor for the raid

Jagex has pointed at Rune armour, Black Dragonhide, and Ancestral robes as the Scorned Wilderness floor. That is melee plate, ranged hide, and magic cloth at the rune tier — one step past adamant and red hide. You cannot farm those pieces in the live Early Access map. You can farm the habits: a finished combat style, 99-cap skills that actually have the chore spells, lodestones in every region, and a house that smelts without a missing roof.

Pick a lane and finish it. The Builds Hub is the place to lock melee, ranged, or magic so the raid group is not four people in mixed grey adamant. Weapons and armour rankings on the tier lists will shuffle when rune and black dragonhide go live; use them as the current meta, then rebuild in September.

Bring the same support discipline Velgar taught you. Antipoison was mandatory there. Kuldra’s kit is not published as a full tell list yet, so assume elemental breath, adds, and an arena hazard, and pack food, potions, and Law Runes until the bags complain. A raid wipe that costs a long run from Bramblemead is a lodestone problem you can solve today.

Party size and how to practise

Default online co-op is 1–4 players. Shockbyte dedicated servers go to 6. The co-op guide covers hosting, roles, and why one player should own Construction while another owns the rune altar. For Kuldra, a party of 4 is the expected Steam session; a dedicated box lets two extra bodies hold adds or revive. Crossplay with consoles is scheduled with 1.0, so a mixed PC and pad group is a September problem, not a tonight problem.

Assign roles before the patch: one tanky melee, one range, one mage, one flex who can swap to utility and keep. Practise that split on Fuzan and on Nightmare Crucible. If you cannot clear the Cave without shouting, you will not clear a God-Eater on week one.

What not to do

Do not skip Velgar, steel, mithril, or adamant because rune is the real set. Finish Dragon Slayer, climb the walkthrough, lock a build, and watch the roadmap for Scorned Wilderness notes. Kuldra ate gods. She can wait until your iron is rune and your party can move.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is Kuldra in the Early Access build?

No. She is the Scorned Wilderness raid boss scheduled with 1.0 on 15 September 2026. Velgar and Fuzan are the live dragons. Prep in Umbral Sands until that patch.

What gear should I bring to Kuldra?

Jagex has pointed at Rune armour, Black Dragonhide, and Ancestral robes as the raid floor. Until 1.0, finish adamant, red dragonhide, and Infinity robes in Umbral Sands and lock a build on the Builds Hub.

How many players is the raid?

Plan for a party of 4 in a normal online session, or up to 6 on a Shockbyte dedicated server. Crossplay with consoles is scheduled with 1.0. See the co-op guide.

Do I need to kill Velgar first?

Yes. Velgar is her general and Dragon Slayer opens Fellhollow, which is on the path to Dowdun Reach and Umbral Sands. Skipping him leaves you in the wrong tier.

Where are the 1.0 dates and remaining content listed?

The 1.0 launch page and the roadmap track the Scorned Wilderness raid, console versions, and what Jagex has announced for Kuldra's rewards.
